Amanda & Alex

(no loves yet – be the first!)

Happy belated Thanksgiving everybody!  Hope you all ate lots of yummy turkey and had a chance to spend some much needed time with family and friends :-)  With the holiday and all, we’re a bit behind in posting from last weekend’s sessions – sorry guys!  We actually had THREE sessions last weekend so it’s been a little crazy around here trying to play catch up and get back on track.

The first of the three was an engagement session for the adorable Amanda & Alex.  Amanda and I go WAY back!  It makes me feel a little old to say this, but I was actually her church camp counselor when she was in 6th grade.  Seems to me like it was just yesterday, but now she’s all grown up and preparing to marry the man of her dreams :-)  I’m oh so proud!  Ryan and I had a fabulous afternoon hanging out with her and her hubby-to-be Alex in downtown Tempe.  Here are some of our favorites from their session:

It was sometimes a little bit hard to hear what they were saying because of the traffic on Mill Ave, but we’re convinced that Alex must be hilarious because he kept Amanda laughing all day.

Loved this very cool colored staircase leading down to a below ground restaurant . . .

Mill Ave is full of cool little places with great colors . . .

Loved how this one turned out – kinda cool and moody :-)

Alex proposed on a chilly night in the middle of the bridge over Tempe Town Lake. It was so cold that nobody was around, so they had to make the trek over to the Marquee Theater to find someone to take a few pictures of them. So of course, we had to make the hike to the exact spot it happened and get some shots of them there. There’s quite a few more in the slideshow, but here are a couple favs:

By the time we made it all the way back down Mill Ave to where the cars were parked, it had started to get dark so they made a very quick wardrobe change. For their second outfits they decided to show a little college spirit. Amanda is a U of A Wildcat and Alex is an ASU Sun Devil! Only a little bit of rivalry there . . .

Rivalry or not, I think love has overcome in this case :-)

The Gift of Words

November 22, 2008

We got an email yesterday letting us know that our buisness had been reviewed on Kudzu.com.  If you haven’t heard of it before, Kudzu.com is a website where people rate their favorite (and least favorite) buisnesses.  It’s also a great tool to use when you’re looking for a buisness of some kind and wonder what kind of an experience other people have had with it.

Here’s what this reviewer had to say about us:

Thanks so much for the great review!  It was so sweet of you to want to tell others about us.  If you’ve used our services in the past, we’d like to invite you to share your thoughts as well!  Click on the Kudzu.com logo below and it will take you directly to our profile where you can write your own review.

November 5 was my 27th birthday.  We’ve been so CRAZY busy since then I’m just now getting around to posting about it.  So I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting much this year, but as usual Ryan found a way to make me feel oh so special :-)

He sat me down on the couch and told me to close my eyes and hold out my hands.  When I opened them I saw this:

A bowl of green and yellow Skittles.  I think my response was something like, “Okay . . . what am I supposed to do with these?”  So then he had me close my eyes again and when I opened them this time I saw this:

YAY!!!  How cute is my husband?  SERIOUSLY!  He picked out all the green, yellow and orange skittles so he could package my presents in my favorite flavors :-)  Yay!  Candy AND presents!  (By the way, the reason why the first bowl only had the greens and yellows is because Ryan put the orange ones in a separate bowl for him :-)  He likes the orange ones.)

As you can see I got some awesome gifts including a 28mm f2.8 lens (which I promptly removed from the box and used to take the pictures), my favorite perfume (Chanel Chance) and the Office Trivia DVD game!  In my world, that’s HUGE!  (“That’s what she said!” – sorry couldn’t help myself.)

Thanks Babe for giving me another fabulous birthday!  I’m so blessed to be married to you :-)
