1011

A couple weeks ago, we finished the guest book design for Rachel & Manny and I completly forgot to post it!  Opps :-)  Well, better late than never, right?  We had lots of fun shooting this cute couple in old town Gilbert back in early February.  They’re getting married in late April at Val Vista Lakes in Gilbert.  Can’t wait to be a part of their big day!

This album is meant to be used as a guest book at their wedding so there’s lots of blank space left where their guests can leave them special notes.  These books are a great alternative to a traditional guest book and make an awesome memento of your engagement photos too!  Keep in mind, the actual book is 10×10 inches when closed so the pages will look A LOT bigger in real life.  Click on the slideshow button below to view the entire design.

Be Our Guest?

March 2, 2009

On Friday, Ryan called up his mom and asked a rather strange question . . . “Can we borrow your camera?”  Yes, it sounds odd, but somewhere along the way of becoming professional photographers, we lent out our point and shoot camera and it has not yet found it’s way back to us.  So on Saturday, for the first time since we started our buisness, Ryan and I got to be GUESTS at our friends Lindsay & Tristan’s wedding.  We didn’t want to have to lug around a bunch of gear all night just to take a few pictures so that’s why we needed a loaner.

I have to admit, it felt kinda wierd being a guest.  No back stage pass . . . no unlimited access to the bride and groom . . . no carrying around a 15 lb camera every where we went . . . time to sit around and chat with friends.  It was kinda CRAZY!  Despite the slight pangs of photographer withdrawl, we had a great time and had tons of fun hanging out with great friends that we don’t get to see often enough.  Here’s a couple fun snapshots.  Please, no judgement on the quality – they were all shot on a regular old point and shoot camera.

I’ve had the same six gal pals in my life since high school; Julie, Krissy, Ally, Steph & Lindsay.  Here’s a shot of us, minus Lindsay (the bride – she was out having portraits taken with her new husband).

We lent Julie and her fiance’ Jimmy our shades for this silly little number.  Work it!

A ridiculous atempt at a Gotcher self portrait.  That’s not pretty . . .

A snapshot I took on route to the bufett of the beautiful bride Lindsay and Krissy, her matron of honor.

We asked Jimmy to take a nice picture of us since we almost NEVER end up on the same side of any lens.  Aren’t we cute :-)

Congrats Lindsay & Tristan!  We’re so happy for you guys :-)  Thanks for giving us a reason to take the night off!

On Saturday I headed to California Pizza Kitchen at the Arizona Biltmore to shoot a baby shower for Karina & Susan.  Since baby showers tend to be a pretty girly affair, Ryan opted to let me cover this event without him. It’s a good thing too, because the place was packed!  There was barely room for ONE photographer :-)  Ryan and I had a wedding to go to later that night so I was only able to stay for part of the shower, but I had a great time capturing this very special event.

Karina and Susan are good friends of my sister Amy.  Karina and Amy work together as labor & delivery nurses at Maricopa County hospital.  You may remember her as the party planner extraordinaire from Amy’s shower way back in July of 2008.  Karina & Susan are expecting their first baby, a little girl named Greyson in April.  From all the friends and family that showed up to celebrate with them, I’m sure that Greyson is going to be well loved :-)

As is usually the case with baby showers, there were lots of fun details.  Kudos to the party planners!

I super loved the cake made out of diapers – doesn’t SOUND very appetizing, but it made for super cute baby shower decor :-)

They’re doing Greyson’s room with a Lamb theme so there was plenty of cute lambies in among the goodies.

What baby shower would be complete without a baby?  And what baby is more adorable than my niece Makena!  Amy, Makena and our Mom showed up right before I had to leave, but I managed to grab at least one quick shot of her “working the room”.
